*Omolene 400 contains high-quality roughage and can be fed without hay. If fed with hay, the feeding rates of Omolene 400 can be reduced. To meet nutrient requirements, do not feed less than 0.6 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day (6 lbs per 1000-lb horse) of Omolene 400. To meet fiber requirements, do not feed less than 1.2 lbs/100 lbs of body weight per day of Omolene 400 and hay or pasture equivalent combined.

This is the lowest protein full feed I can find to feed my senior girl with kidney disease. It's pricey, but she eats it. I will say that the consistency between the bags is varied. There have also been batches that she has been resistant to eat, while she gobbles up others. I've been mixing in a little bit of Integrity Senior with Molases and she inhales everything. Overall, she hasn't lost weight and her condition is fairly good for a 30+ mare with an assortment of issues that do not permit her to eat hay.
