Is this good for Pigmy goats also?

Asked by: Donna1960
Thanks for choosing Purina. The Goat Chow may be fed to pygmy goats as well. If they are male goats, we would suggest a better product would be the Purina Goat Grower pellet which has the added ammonium chloride.

What feed do you recommend for wethers and older does? I am adopting 5 that are about 7

Asked by: newmama
Thanks for choosing Purina. We would suggest the Purina Goat Grower which has the added ammonium chloride that will benefit your males. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Is this product harmful to sheep?

Asked by: Lulu 2372
The Purina Goat Chow is labeled for feeding only to goats. Since this does have added copper, we do not recommend feeding to sheep. The copper will be too high for the sheep's nutrient needs.

I have a child with a life threatening allergy to nuts& peanuts. Does this fed contain any peanut or nut ingredients?

Asked by: Stell stell
We cannot guarantee our ingredients have not come in contact with peanuts or tree nuts. And, some of our manufacturing plants will contain peanut hulls as we do use this as an ingredient source in the southern region of the United States in some livestock products. Please call us at 800-227-8941 if you have additional questions.

is this item bad if a horse eat some by misteake

Asked by: andrew zaz
Goat Chow should only be fed to goats (any age group and dairy). It is not a medicated product. However, if a horse accidentally ingests the product, they need to consult a veterinarian due to the volume that may have been consumed.

We have nigerian dwarfs and feed this product as a weekly supplement. Our Vet advised giving less product to our bucks than to our does. Could you recommend approximate feeding amounts for males vs females (about #60lb animal) ?

Asked by: Hayloft
Per the Vendor: "For the Dwarf goats, they should receive at least 2% of their body weight as Goat Grower 16 to receive the minimum amount of ammonium chloride or ammonium sulfate to help with urinary calculi. At 2% of BW, the goats will also need ad lib access to forage (pasture or hay) and should be offered Goat Mineral ad lib as well with ad lib water. The goats could be fed more than 2% of BW if there are still growing. When the goats reach their mature weight, it is probably more beneficial for them to be on a grass hay and Goat Mineral diet to prevent obesity and a high forage diet will help prevent urinary calculi as well."
