Bought this in March as I had 2 dozen chicks ordered. Set up my brooder and could never get an accurate reading. As I'm typing this, it's 83 degrees here in East Texas and my thermometer says it's 40. The glass tube is mounted on a steel backing so if you're placing it in a brooder anywhere near the heat lamp, the steel heats WAY up and throws off the reading.

A little hard to read from a distance. Have to lift it up from inside my brooder to read it. However, I love the scale that tells what temp in what week to keep the temperature. Also, it is super easy to clean!
