Had the unit less than 5 years. Had to replace one of the collars that stopped working after two years. Batteries are short lived but always kept an eye on them. Replaced the battery on a collar and the dog ran in the road when a truck was coming. Needless to say, the result was devastating. All of the dogs ran out in the road after him but only one was killed. Dogs don’t live long lives to begin with but a system built for a dog should have a lifespan that at least lasts as long as the dog may. There is no replacing what I lost because of the system being unreliable. Great for a short term training device if that’s all it’s used for but then the price is too high if only needed for a short time. I live in the country where most dogs roam free but my dogs were contained with this fence. All it took was the day the unit decided to stop working and another dog to draw my dog to the road and a truck driving fast (common here). The light was still working on the device giving no indication that it was not working. Checked all the collars with another unit and the collars are all in working order. When the unit stops transmitting to the collars it would be helpful if there was an indication that it needs to be replaced. Only giving one star because there is no undoing what has been done. I lost a very expensive stud poodle and not only lost a substantial amount of money, I lost one of the funniest personalities I have ever had in any dog and a very loved member of my family. I’m not one to leave a bad review but this one is important to me as my heart is so shattered that I don’t want people to rely on this device. Would also like the company to put into the devices what is expected to reflect the price they charge.

Bought this 8 months ago and it’s well worth the $$$. We have 2.2 acres and no fences, Our new rescue was very curious and would just wonder off the property, I got tired of going after him . With this Remote invisible fencing has made life so much easier for Jeb and myself. I love that he has 1/2 acre perimeter that he can explore . He learned his boundries right away. The collar doesn’t bother him and he has not tried to chew it or take it off. He wears it all day and we take it off him at night. He is one happy dog having his freedom and me not having to worry or to have him on a tie out. Jeb and I highly recommend this product, there are other products on the market but this is #1 for us. It was easy to set up . And the unit takes up a small space.

I’ve had to replace this system 3 times over the course of the last 5 years. Same with replacing collars. Unfortunately I rent so it’s the best option for containment, but if you’re looking for long term use of steer clear.

I used this collar for two months and it worked fine until today i noticed my dog was curled up beside the house whining. After checking on him and looking him over i noticed his neck was burned where the collar was. For some reason the collar has kept shocking him no matter how close he got to the receiver. It worked fine for two months none of the settings or size of the area where changed the collar just started shocking for no reason.
