I have used pet safe static collars for 10 years. The new style of “clicker” aka remote, is horrible. Compared with the previous generation, the updated remote is so bad. You can’t keep it in your pocket because the buttons push when you don’t want them to. The “upgrade” is a downgrade. The buttons push too easily. You can’t keep it on your pocket because when you walk or bend over the buttons depress and give false negative “STATIC” feedback to your dogs. Who came up with this design? Do the engineers actually use the device? The old style is so much better. 0/10 for the upgrade. Do not purchase. Demand more and demand the old style buttons. This is insane. Very disappointed.

The collar itself is a faulty design that comes apart too easily. After spending a 100 bucks you shouldn't have to buy a new collar to replace their poorly designed one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the PetSafe Core remote trainer for a few weeks and here’s how it’s gone: The three modes—tone, vibration, and static—are easy to switch between, and the static correction feels like a light tap rather than a harsh shock. Over time, my dog began responding faster to tone and vibration, using static only as a backup cue. The remote and collar design is intuitive and comfortable to handle, and everything feels fairly durable. The 1,000-foot range gives good flexibility in open spaces. That said, there are a couple of drawbacks: the price is on the high side, and I had to experiment a bit to find the right static strength without overcorrecting. The green-tint “tap” sensation isn’t dramatic, so for very stubborn dogs it may take patience. Overall, it’s an effective, thoughtfully designed trainer that strikes a nice balance between firmness and gentleness.
