Q: What are the instructions on how to fill 1# bottle

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. To use this adapter, first freeze the 1 lb bottle overnight. Then flip the 20 lb tank upside down. As quickly as possible, remove the bottle and attach it to this adapter on the tank. Open the tank all the way for 1 minute, then close it. That should fill the bottle with about 1 lb of fuel. You can weigh the bottle to know for sure.

Q: How full can I expect to get 1-pounder from a very large tank's low pressure regulated output?

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. I wouldn't expect that to get it very full. The refill process does recommend using full bottle pressure, without a regulator to make sure you can put enough gas into the 1 lb bottle to fill it.

Q: Life of propane in a small camping stove tank?

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. The run time is going to depend on tank size and the BTU rating of the stove/heater. Burners on most camping stoves range from 7,000 to 20,000 BTU, so a 1 lb. cylinder should last around 1 to 4 hours. Have a great day!

Great product, but easy to not get full refills

This works really well. I suggest connecting the adapter to the large LP tank, turning the larger LP tank upside down then opening the valve and fill the small 1lb tank. Once you don't hear any LP move to the 1LB tank, close the larger tank's valve. If you have to, remove the 1LB tank and there's a shrader valve (like on your car's a/c lines) on top. Use needle nose pliers, or locking foreceps to pull the valve up and bleed off some of the air. This will allow you to reconnect the 1LB bottle and put even more LP in the smaller tanks so you get a true 1LB refill.

Yes, I recommend this product.
