The Mibro 7/16 in. -14 and 1/2 in. -13 NC Plug Taps are used for cutting internal threads. These heavy-duty plug taps are made from tool steel that is titanium nitride-coated for reduced friction. Plug tap sizing consists of two numbers; the first number refers to the diameter of the hole being threaded, the second number states the number of threads per inch.

  • Made with quality tool steel that's titanium nitride-coated to reduce friction
  • First 3 to 5 threads are tapered to assist with straight and accurate start for threading

Q: Is this a single plug tap or a pair of taps, one 7/16-14 and the other 1/2-13 ? If single, which is it 7/16-14 or 1/2-13? Also, the taper looks like a plug tap for blind holes, but so do Asian taps intended for thread cleanup; pls confirm intended use.

    Worked, then broke. Harbor Freight for the win!

    This worked decently for its job. I cleaned out maybe 12 of 32 threaded holes, backing out whenever it got hung up. It eventually snapped under low pressure. I was almost able to twist the end still in the hole out with my fingers. My Harbor Freight set finished the job flawlessly.

    No, I do not recommend this product.
