EQUINE POTOMAVAC® vaccine is a liquid suspension of inactivated Ehrlichia risticii. When administered to healthy horses this triggers and immune response to aid in the protection of Potomac Horse Fever (equine monocytic ehrlichiosis) caused by E. risticii.

Special Precautions

Safety and efficacy of this product have been demonstrated in controlled vaccination challenge tests and in thorough field evaluations. Vaccinating animals whose immune response is compromised by stress, disease, etc. may not produce the desired results. After the primary vaccination and booster, annual revaccination is recommended. Speak with your vet about your horses vaccination schedule.

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.

Side Effects

In rare instances, administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory or hypersensitivity types of reactions. Treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine.

Store at 2-7°C (35-45°F). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Shake well before using.
