Q: Can i use this paint on open cell spray foam?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello, thank you for your question. This paint is formulated for exterior surfaces like wood, metal, and masonry. Open-cell spray foam is not listed as a recommended surface for this product, so we can’t confirm compatibility. If you need to paint spray foam, it’s best to use a coating that the foam manufacturer specifies for that application.

Q: I applied 20 gallons with a sprayer to our 3 rail wood fence. It looks gray in the sun, black when it’s overcast. Is this normal?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, this color shift is normal for most black latex fence paints, including Lexington Pro Black, and is primarily caused by how the paint finish interacts with different lighting conditions.

Q: Can this paint be applied to wood planks on a donkey stall ? Is it non toxic for equines?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "Our paints are safe for animals. We cater to the agricultural and horse industry where horses chew on fences. Once the paint is on a fence, the animal will not ingest so much that it will be harmful."

    Great coverage, Easy Clean Up

Definitely 5 stars to begin with. I am interested to see how long it lasts. Fence was one year old when I stained it with 13x - 5 gallon cans of Flood CWF-UV Clear. I wanted to maintain the beautiful red and golden hues in the poplar boards. It took me 4 months to stain with a brush and roller, every nook & cranny, two to three coats. (I work full time). The Flood did not last 18 months. I did a ton of research as I really wanted a golden cedar look for the fence as it is warm and cheerful, but not if it is not going to last. After researching many reviews and talking to people, I called Lexington Paint Co. twice, before deciding to buy their product. Both times they answered the phone and my questions. 10 stars for their Cust Service. I used almost 11x - 5 gallon cans to paint both sides of a 5 board fence, 112 posts = 5,152 feet (x 2 sides?) My daughter bought me the Graco Magnum Project Painter Plus for Mothers' Day. Lexington recommends a .017" to .021" spray tip for the Fence Pro. That required research as well; since the sprayer came with a TrueAirless 515 spray tip (.015") Apparently, Graco does not offer a larger tip opening for this sprayer. Was hoping for a 317. As they are 6" fence boards and that may reduce waste. The .015" tip worked great directly from the bucket with no thinning. I did have to turn the spray pressure all the way up for it to spray. Hopefully these details based on my experience may help reduce the research you will need to do. The fence looks beautiful! Not bright and cheerful... but CLASSY and a great finish! When the morning sun shines on the gate, it still looks warm! The Fence Pro was great to work with! I did stir and filter every pail before spraying. Clean up is so easy (except for the sprayer) that was a bear if done right so it works the next time I want to paint something...hopefully it won't be the fence for at least a few years! Thank you Lexington for great customer service and so far, what seems to be a quality product!

Good value, but repainting in 3 years on new wood

Good value, but we are needing to repaint after 3 years. I’m hoping it’s because all of our wood is new and is soaking up the paint…maybe over time as the wood ages, the paint will last longer. We have 38 acres with new wood painted pasture fencing and 3 new barns that are all painted black. We bought a couple inexpensive power sprayers and have local farm kids help with painting over the summer. It does look beautiful painted black and we love the aesthetic
