The Leupold BackCountry series comes in cross-slot and ringmount styles that accept both Picatinny and Weaver-style rings. This cross-slot model is specifically designed to fit any riflescope with a 1" main tube. Constructed with incredibly lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum and a milled in recoil lug and low-profile keeper screw, the BackCountry series is one of our lightest and most rugged hunting-style mounts yet.

Fit and finish is good

Fit and finish is good but I wish Leupold would go back to the larger attachment nut as opposed to the smaller hex which is easier to strip out. The smaller torx screws for the top rings work well enough and are adequate for the smaller torq values. I’ve never had one loosen before. Finish is good and does not need lapping for a true fit. Overall: I think these are good rings for hunting with bolt guns when ounces count. I use them on all my hunting rigs.

I originally purchased some cheap

I originally purchased some cheap rings that claimed to be the same material and quality for my 7MM REM Mag. After a half dozen shots the rings cracked in half. I’ll never make that mistake again. Go American. Go Leupold.
