Started on first attempt and did great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the ST230 in September 2021 after buying a cabin in the mountains. I filled it with treated non-ethanol gas and made sure it ran, and ran the carb dry for storage.
I finally had a need to use it a few days ago. It fired up on the first attempt. It was in the teens outside and it was stored in a non heated building. I ran it for 6 hours and it chewed through the 15" of snow eith no issues. When I'd have to restart it, easily started. Throws the snow very far when set for that need. I am happy with the purchase.

Not worth the money. Don't buy.

Since I purchased this unit it has spent more time in the shop then blowing snow. The belt drive for the auger derails frequently - design flaw. It does not start well in cold weather. When it runs, it works ok, but spent more time trying to start it then it takes me to hand shovel the snow from walks & parking areas.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great power, awesome controls.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's getting harder to find a large carburetor version of equipment and I made this purchase due to my 1 year old fuel injected one (not Husqvarna) now sitting in the shop for an unknown fuel injection problem. This ST230 fires right up and has a lot of power for a 30" blower. Really launches the snow. The controls for the direction and angle of the chute are great compared to many others. So much faster to swing it right or left/up and down compared to other models I've used. Great aggressive treads on the tires and very adjustable to the user. Highly recommend.

A real work horse!

Used a Husqvarna for years here in Upstate NY, and it is a real work horse, and my father (74) and I (36) have always been happy with it on our 10 acres of property/out buildings. Finally had to replace our old one due to a damaged impellor, and we did not hesitate to order another Husqvarna. Started it up for a test run the day it came, and today (Thanksgiving) we are getting our first snow fall of nearly 8 inches, and it worked again like a true work horse. I also appreciated the headlight towards the thrower chute as opposed to the older make which had it up near the handles, especially given that we were working well past sun down to get everything done to our satisfaction, and it was very bright.
