This blower takes home the gold

This machine was put to the test with about 20 inches of powder snow. My driveway is a gravel 200 foot long steep hill. I was certainly skeptical about the majority of machines being able to complete the job. With a ton of research I came across this beautiful blower that matches my cub cadet zero turn that I purchased last year. Before the first use I checked oil which was full and then filled the gas tank. I plugged in to use the electric start. The blower fired to life almost instantly. Without chains on the tires it was able to go up and down my driveway with no issues at all. The bright lights are a great addition as I found myself blowing snow at 7 o’clock at night after work. Heated handle grips kept my hands very warm the entire time. This blower is easy for anyone to use. Once you know the basics of how snow blowers function you can easily avoid problems other customers were leaving bad reviews about. I would highly recommend this snow blower and will continue to purchase cub cadet products in the future.

Horrible machine

Just had to borrow my neighbors Honda because my Cub Cadet continuously clogs. If the snow is even remotely heavy or wet the machine clogs. I hate it!!

Failure on wet snow

Just had first snow of season and it failed miserably on 4 inches of slightly wet snow. Don’t buy if you get measurable wet snow. By the way, this is a new machine.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I've owned it about 4 years now, and in far north Ontario, Canada. We have 5 months of snow, no word of a lie. It gets used a LOT.
First, replace those shear pins with bolts. As soon as anything chunky comes up, they snap. Very easy to put a crescent wrench over the end of a flute of the machine and straighten one of them if they bend. I have yet to have one bend despite hard packed snow and occasionally hitting the edge of things buried in the snow- IE trailer hitch.
Second is to adjust the speed on it. Lower the top gear speed and that will boost the reverse speeds a bit. 2 or 3 turns on that adjustment gives you a better reverse speed without making it dangerous to use if you were to slip. That's it.
Get chains if you find the wheels spin too much in hard pack.
Need to remember, even at -40 deg celcius. Choke open, only 2 pumps on the primer and it starts first pull. Sometimes 2 pulls if it's -40, but that is rare. Do your oil changes, inspect yearly and all you'll ever need to do is touch up the paint here and there. Works like a dream.

It really is a beast

Some of these reviews are wild. Blaming the equipment because you're not using it correctly for the conditions? All snowblowers can clog up with wet heavy snow. I live in Upper Michigan... We know snow. This machine is a beast. Take it slow, don't fight the machine and it will get the job done everytime. Very powerful, starts every time, throws snow very far!
