Q: This kit Fits 9 frames what is the box dimensions ? Wondering what boxes will fit on it when wanting to build up 10 frame and 8 are usually standard sizes . So it seems this is a odd size .

- A: This kit will hold 10 frames this one only has 9 because we have removed one to provide an inhive feeder. Which takes the place of one of the frames. It is a true 10 frame langstroth hive.6 years agoHelpful?

Poorly packed, missing parts

Arrived damaged due to poor packing, broken frames, broken top and cracked body, store kindly swapped it out for a kit off the shelf minus the extras that don't come with just the hive, upon opening we noticed that the full kits from store stock were missing items like frames, feeders, and tools. Local store & staff are wonderful and I'll keep visiting them for items I know are in stock there.

These used to be better quality. Now the wood splits allowing access to small hive beetles, the bottom board trim is too small and prevents the door from fitting under the hive box - leaving the door reducer out is a bad idea, the 2x4 cheap lumber used as the foundation only works on cinder block style stands which are unstable. Dadant boxes are much better quality for cheaper price. Just two years ago at best, these boxes were much better, the bottom board was solid, all the material was milled within specs, and different pieces worked together when you had to swap door, boxes, etc. Be patient order from somewhere else.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Decent hive box that arrive the same day I ordered it! However it was missing pieces- the lid to the in hive feeder plus one of my frames was broken.

Frames were all crooked and warped so I took it back. Not impressed with this company. Better off buying my bee supplies from Dadant or Mannlake
