  • A: Thanks for reaching out! Our product already has the seed pre-mixed and embedded during manufacturing, so there’s no need to add any additional seed. At this time, we aren’t able to add custom seed varieties provided by customers. If you’re looking for a different seed mix, we’d be happy to help recommend one of our existing blends that might fit your needs!

  • A: Best not to use over old grass, it’s not really intended for overseeding. Clear out the old grass and turn the soil, it works best on bare, turned soil.

  • A: In about 1 week, I had 3" grass. It rained a lot in mid-spring and that may have had something to do with it, but I was surprised because the soil here is very bad and I did not do much prep work.

Hoping for better results

It’s been 11 days since we rolled out the GrowTrax, so nothing has happened, looks like the day we rolled it out? I’m hoping it starts soon? My main complaint is I wish we would have received the how to video before we received the product. We would have prepared our soil differently, anyway we are still hoping for good results?

Not a good value for the expense

We love the idea of this product and had great expectations, however we did not find the expense worthwhile. We laid out 3 pro rolls in our back yard, (new home construction requiring deep top soil to level the yard). We filled in around the edges and in a few areas where we did not have the growtrax material laid down with plain rye seed purchased elsewhere. The plain seed sprouted 3-4 days earlier with no additional effort required to keep the seed in place. The biggest issue for us was every very slight breeze pulled up areas of the sheets at corners, seams, and various areas that had ripped and separated when stepped on. The material dried out quickly and we found ourselves constantly having to lay it back down and quickly water again to keep it down and in place. We would not purchase this material again, we would just spread raw seed. It was easier to work with and way less expensive.
