Mr Wood Chucks New Grizzly Planer

So far I love my G1033X planer. It is very quiet and planes the wood to a very smooth finish. I also have a rigid 13 inch planer which has worked well for many years but it is like driving junker car compared to my new G1033X Cadillac.

I drove to Missouri to pick this beast up. Well worth the drive, this thing chews up material like nothing. I upgraded from the Dewalt 735 13" planer. best investment in my shop that I made. The cast iron construction, the 5hp motor, the 20' capacity and the Helical cutterhead was the reasoning behind purchasing this

Hello? Hello? Is this thing on?

What a monster this planer is! Running 20" of Maple through and you can barely hear the machine. Ok, that is a slight exeggeration, but you can stand next to it and have a normal conversation. Set up was easy enough and it needed just a couple of adjustments. I didn't need the helical head but I am so glad i spent the extra money, as it produces some really nice surfaces.
