- A: Hi, Here is the information we received from the vendor. The trailer tailgate must always be locked in the upright position by it’s locking mechanism, which is already on the trailer. The Gorilla Lift does not lock the tailgate in upright position. The Gorilla Lift only takes the weight off the tailgate when raising and lowering it.11 months agoHelpful?

Garbage

I bought a set of these, they were nice when they worked. They only lasted about 12 uses, then both cables snapped on the same day. I asked about warranty, they said they only offer a 7 day warranty, with both photo and video proof.
Replacement cables are nearly as expensive as replacing the entire system
I CANNOT STRESS STRONGLY ENOUGH TO AVOID BOTH THIS PRODUCT AND THIS COMPANY

what if the trailer solid steel sides are 30" high and your units are only 3' long ? This will not allow the tailgate to reach the ground when opening?

We paid 230 bucks for these and the the first time we used them one spring twisted and messed up. about a week later the other one did the same thing worthless product for the money.

Better supplies

I bought this product because I have a hard time lifting up my tailgate. Unfortunately, during the installation process the bolt supplied by the company were not long enough so I had to go down and buy $20 worth of new nuts and bolts!! going forward you could include long enough bolts for square tubing. My chair came from tractor supply and I have square tubing and your bolts weren’t long enough.
