Super Handy

Easy assembly, but preferred ball position for boats is totally wrong. Also dolly actually does a wheely when trying to pull boat. FYI boat is below all weight specs.

SuperHandy 2800lb Electric Trailer Dolly

I purchased the SuperHandy 2800 lb Electric Trailer Dolly from Tractor Supply and am very impressed with the power of the motor. For context, my trailer is 4,867 lbs dry with a 497 lb tongue weight, and I’m working on a very flat driveway. Let me be absolutely clear: I do NOT recommend using this dolly anywhere near this weight. What I did is well beyond the manufacturer’s capacity and recommendations. I only tried it because I couldn’t justify spending over $1,500 on a higher-rated mover for how little I use it—and I was genuinely curious whether this dolly could move my trailer. It turns out the motor can do it. The power was there, but the weight of the trailer pushed the dolly around. If you let the trailer, get any momentum at all, you’ll quickly end up with a runaway trailer. If the driveway is even slightly wet, it will spin a tire when turning. The best advice I can give—really for any powered dolly—is go SLOW. A ~100 lb dolly simply cannot stop a 2,800+ lb trailer; that’s just physics and common sense. Again, I wouldn’t recommend using it beyond its rated capacity, but it did answer my question: the motor itself has the capability to move a heavier trailer. Just use extreme caution.

Superhandy 2800

The Superhandy 2800 is a game changer. The one thing to note is that the trailer dolly is suited for a flat surface. I have both a 15' Bayliner boat that's in 1600lb range and 2800lb A frame camper. I have a sloped driveway. I can control the speed of the boat down my driveway by putting dolly in forward to use the power of the motor to control the speed of the boat going down the driveway. The dolly doesn't have a feature to control the weight by itself. I would not trust connecting to my camper while stored given the weight. Also, I dont think the Superhandy can get my camper up the driveway. Plus it would take to people if it was able to as you would need a person to choke the wheel while I would handle the dolly.
