- A: Hi Seedy! The wheel handle item 29 on the side of planter assembly is used to adjust the size of the pocket that the seed will fall into and be metered out of the hopper assembly. Turning the wheel handle clockwise makes the pocket smaller and counter clockwise enlarges it. See figure 14. Great planter for the money

We have had this planter for several months and used it 3 times. Easy to assemble and setup. Works for corn, beans and similar sized seeds. You can adjust for seed size and depth but are unable to adjust seed spacing. Seed spacing is around 8-10”. Also wish it had covers for the seed hoppers and an option for fertilizer. I would buy again. We used with 35hp kubota with no issues. We disced our planting area several times and dragged smooth. Uneven ground will cause issues with seed depth.
