ParaSalt is formulated to increase koi and goldfish electrolytic intake. Electrolytes are critical in building and maintaining a healthy slime coat. Electrolytes such as potassium are essential in wound repair and in times of heavy stress, such as during water changes or clean outs. ParaSalt is excellent for mucus production when healing a wound. ParaSalt will also help ward off and get rid of the most common protozoan parasites found in a fishpond. Will not treat bacteria or fungi infection and is not a medication but rather pure sea salt. ParaSalt can be used in a salt bath for heavy infestations or as a routine treatment to keep parasites from entering the pond environment. Easy to use, instant results. Routine Maintenance and Care -- Use 8 ounces or 1 Cup per 100 gallons of water. Apply once a month and after water changes, pond cleaning, or during a seasonal change. Disease Treatment -- Perform a salt bath by adding 16 ounces or 2 cups for every 5 gallons of warm water in an isolated bath (treat in a separate tank, container, bucket, or small pool). Add vigorous aeration to the quarantine tank and place infected fish for 5-10 minutes. A bottom-diffused aerator is best. When used in accordance with label directions, ParaSalt is safe for use with fishes, plants, birds, ducks, snails, turtles, pets, and wildlife. Do not apply treatments directly on plant leaves. Made of real, natural evaporated sea salts (sodium chloride), which have a granular texture similar to rock salt or little crystal rocks.
