Excellent After You Tighten Every Fitting
4 days ago
Ive had Eagle compressors for 20yrs now and they are highly reliable units. But once again I had to tighten fittings upon my purchase. Seems to be an ongoing problem at Woods (maker), its not your basic leak like a regulator as most others have, but like my last Eagle this one also had the main large line from pump to tank leaking at both ends.
Customers shouldn't have to do all the final prep on one, guess Woods dont test any prior to shipping one like other corps. Many do 100% test.
Ive helped enough freinds & family members set up their new Quincy's, Puma's & dare I say problem prone Ingersoll & Dewalt compressors to know its just not normal to always need this done by owners. If I was new to compressors & had experienced the quality of Eagles once their set up & running Id definitely returned this compressor for another brand. With so many leaks it was actuually embarrassing to set up.
I can only hope the quality control was actually performed on its internals better than its externals, hopefully things haven't worsened with this brand? Other than a switch failure my first 20 gal Eagle still hums along after 20yrs. My other 60 never had a fix yet, its 8yrs old. I own a farm & its getting hard to load my heavy portable compressor all around like I used too.

Eagle 5hp, High CFM single stage compressor
14 days ago
Great price by Tractor Supply. Item delivered on time, no damage.
I wired up and connected my garage air manifold, regulator and filters, and worked as it should right off the crate. Slightly quieter than my Craftsman Pro series 60 gallon. I will update my review after getting some hours on the unit.

Nice compressor but needs better spec listing
3 years ago
Compressor is a nice compressor but they need to update their specifications.. Specifications did not indicate 2 stage, or single stage. When I received the compressor, big Is sticker below the pump indicates high output single stage. I wasn't really looking for a single stage. However the CFM rating is higher than the 2 stage. I did save a little bit of money over the 2 stage, so for now I will keep it. So far it seems to be running pretty well. Manufacturer needs to do something about the metal pulley guard, as they tend to vibrate and create unnecessary noise when running. Is some sort of insulator between the guard and the compressor frame, as well as between the outer cover and inner plate of the guard. Is some sort of insulator between the guard and the compressor frame, as well as between the outer cover and inner plate of the guard. Other than that, it's a nice compressor. I did give it 5 stars because I think it's a really good compressor, however the quality control was a little lacking. There were several loose fittings, and the compressor would lose air quickly. Is. 2 fittings on the regulator, is regulator, were not tightened all the way and were leaking air here. I was able to tighten those, and stop the leak. Leak. I am still getting a little bit of bleed, so I need to check the drain valve on the bottom of the compressor to make sure that it is tight, and that it is completely closed. Please update your specifications to indicate duty cycle, and and single or 2 stage. Duty cycle is important, and one of the questions that I reviewed later indicated it was a 50% duty cycle. Funny thing, motor label indicates continuous duty. I will reach out to the manufacturer to see if they can clarify the duty cycle on this unit.
