Q: Will a 470-5 fit a 496-5 ? What's the difference
3 years ago1 Answer
- A: Hi! Thank you for reaching out. Per the vendor: A 470-5 is the element inside out amber bowl fuel filters. It is just the replacement filter for it. A 496-5 is a water block replacement filter. Either one can be used in the amber bowl fuel filter.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Is this WaterBlock wlement compatible with my Goldenrod 495 1” NPT?
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: Thanks for your question! The only difference between the 495 and 496 fuel tank filters is the element that comes with them- the 495 comes with our standard 10 micron element, and the 496 comes with the Water-Block 17 micron element. This means that you can screw this 496-5 element into the top cap that came with your 495 filter if you need to remove water from your fuel, and the bowl that came with your 495 filter will also work fine with it.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: Why does it state 3 microns, then 17 microns filtration? Which one is it?
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: Thank you for pointing out this discrepancy! This 496-5 fuel tank filter replacement element has a 17 micron rating. We have contacted Tractor Supply to fix the error.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: Is this filter compatible with hydaulic oil?
7 years ago1 Answer
- A: Thanks for your question, but the answer depends on the temperature and weight/viscosity of your hydraulic oil, and how you're planning to use the filter itself. Goldenrod fuel tank filters will handle up to a maximum of 500 SSU, so light hydraulic oil in warm temperatures will probably work, while heavy hydraulic oil at cold temperatures will not. Also, Goldenrod fuel tank filters are not designed to be mounted on engines or motors, they are meant for removing microscopic particles from fuel when transferring it from one location to another. If that is how you want to use the filter and you meet the criteria listed above, it will probably work. However, if you want to mount this filter on an actual pump or engine where oil is circulated and used with pressure, it will not.7 years agoHelpful?
