Q: Can the push button start be replaced with a keyed ignition instead? My push start, tach and speed control does not have power reaching them, but the battery is well connected and fully charged. There is power at the starter.

Engine swap

I bought this engine to replace an old burnt up engine on a vermeer sc252 stump grinder. It's bigger than the original and required a lot of modifications to my machine but the motor performs outstanding and brought new life to this old machine.
Only issues I've had after having it for over a year now is that it's hard to start in the mornings like the autochoke doesn't work so I remove the airfilter and stick my hand in the intake to block airflow and it starts right up. It recently started shutting off on me randomly and it was due to the oil level being low. The motor moves up and down and doesn't set level on the stump grinder so I didn't realize it had gotten low enough that it shut itself down.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Biggest cheap (2k) piece of junk, so many issues with this motor to list. Don’t waste your money, just buy a Vanguard!

Piece of crap engine. Has so many issues after 6 months of use. Always out of replacement parts and cant even source parts for this thing.
