A DuraPlus 8 in. Diameter Chimney Cap is required where chimney pipe terminates above the roof line. Removable screws built into the chimney cap allow for cleaning of the chimney and spark arrestor screen. Made of stainless steel, this cap is built to last and to clean up easily. Designed for normal, continuous operation at 1,000°F flue gas temperatures, this stainless-steel chimney cap is a go-to for a reason!
- Designed to stay cool on the outside, to provide a hot draft on the inside, to boost stove efficiency, and to provide for a fire-safe design that protects both the chimney and the building
- Features two insulating layers (refractory blanket, plus air space)
- Refractory insulation is held securely in position, eliminating hot spots common with loose-fill type insulations
- Designed for normal, continuous operation at 1,000°F flue gas temperatures
- Stainless-steel chimney cap required where chimney pipe terminates above the roof line
- Removable screws allow for cleaning of the chimney and spark arrestor screen
- Made of stainless steel for a super durable chimney cap
- Subjected to rigorous and stringent HT requirements of the UL standard, including one hour at 1,400°F, plus three ten minute chimney fire tests at 2,100°F

- A: Hello Neighbor, Per our vendor, "The openings in the Spark Arrestor Screen comply with all known Codes. It is a ½ X ½ inch metal screen used within the DuraPlus 6” & 8DP-VC Chimney Cap. The openings are slightly less than the ½” min required by Code. We even comply with the stricter California wildfire codes. We are also UL listed for compliance to code."11 months agoHelpful?
