Drontal contains two active ingredients - pyrantel pamoate and praziquantel. Pyrantel pamoate works to eradicate ascarids and hookworms. It is a blocking agent that forces parasites to become paralyzed. The hookworm loses its grip in the wall of the animal's intestine and is then naturally removed. Praziquantel damages the skin of the parasite from the inside, causing the parasite to disintegrate. The parasite is then eliminated by the immune system.

Do not use Drontal in kittens under 1.5 pounds or under a month old.
