A fantastic fall and winter food source, the Domain Outdoor Smack Down Food Plot Turnip Mix offers two varieties of turnips that are easy to grow and fast to mature. Not only will this grow rapidly, but the dual-purpose mix produces a large purple spherical root and leafy forage that can both be grazed, providing high levels of protein and energy. This combination makes Smack Down one of the most popular food plots you can plant for whitetail deer.

  • 3 lb. plants cover 1/2 acre (22,000 sq. ft.); fertilizer weighs 300 lbs.; 19-19-19 per acre
  • Plot mix features special varieties of purple top turnip and forage turnip
  • Highly digestible warm and cold season food sources
  • Extremely fast maturity (as little as 40 days)
  • Smack Down is easy to plant; limited equipment required for fast growth
  • High protein greens with high energy taproots
  • Two varieties of turnips are carefully selected to provide you both warm and cold season food options
  • Plot mix offers attractive forages no matter the temperature or time of year; it is truly an all-fall hunt plot
  • Annuals grow best in full or partial sun, hunt plot or backwoods plot
  • Seed depth requires 1/4 in. or less
  • PH range of 5.8 to 7.0
  • Soil type requires well-drained, dark/rich, sandy, rocky and clay
  • Minimal tilling required; plow, disk or hand rake
  • In the north, plant in July through September; in the central area, plant in July through September; in the south, plant in August through October
