    • A: The CountyLine 4 ft. Round Back Rotary Cutter (often called a brush hog) is built exactly for this kind of heavy, overgrown vegetation. However, it is inherently designed to smash brush rather than cleanly slice turfgrass

    Great cutter

This is a mean little rotary cutter. It does the job well and cuts like a dream. I used this to cut grown up fields with grass, briars, and small trees and it did great. Some areas I cut were over 6’ tall with all kinds of vegetation and this mower preformed great.

Lift pins are too wide for class 1 hitch

Assembly hint: Don't attach the wheel until you have set up the A-frame arms. It just adds weight that makes the arm set up more difficult. Now, my real problem: This mower is supposed to be compatible with a 3 point class 1 hitch, but the lift pin ends are 32" apart. This is class 2 hitch territory. The on-line documentation says that if the pins are too wide, then they can be shifted to point inward. However, the supports for the pins make it impossible to hook up the lifts when the pins are pointed inward.

Great Mower for subcompact paired with quickhitch

My previous mower was a King Kutter Subcompact 48. This Countyline mower is better. Not as heavy as the King Kutter, but still very solidly built. Being its lighter the tractor handles it better. The round back makes it alot easier to maneuver and park in the shed. I am currently running it on a Simplicity Legacy subcompact with a cat 1 3 point and 540 pto. A number of reviews gripe about the lift pins on this mower being spaced too far apart making it really difficult to get on your tractor. They also gripe that you cant put the pins on the inside as per the operators manual. Both gripes are accurate and legitimate. Keep that in mind when considering this mower. However, this mower is designed to be used with a subcompact cat 1 quick hitch. I already had a LandPride QH05 quick hitch for my Kubota BX. I put that on my Legacy and it works absolutely perfect with this mower. I have no complaints, money well spent on both the mower and the quick hitch. Realize that not all quick hitches are made specifically for subcompacts. The landpride QH05 is. Regular cat1 quick hitches wont work right, just like regular 3 point mowers wont work right on a subcompact.. Mowers like this one ( as well as King Kutter XB series attachments))are designed to be used on these subcompact tractors with the shorter rear tires.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
