definitely take a beaten

OK add this brush hog for three years now. I use it to cut about 30 acres of land that was grown up above the tractor. I had a hard time keeping the factory shear bolt in. Every time I would start the PTO it would snap the shear bolt. I went to my local hardware store and got class five bolt. Also I put in some 85w gear oil. Because they don’t put any gear oil in the box. Two thumbs up from me. I got it on a 2605 Massey Ferguson tractor. Just make sure you don’t overfill the gearbox and check it because you will get moisture in it with the breather bolt. I’ve cut trees probably about 1 1/2 inches in diameter with it. No problems whatsoever.

Not Happy with the purchase

I purchased this on 01/22/2021 and two things have happened. The small plastic manual holder on top of the cutter deck broke off 10 minutes into using the cutter the first time. Secondly, the PTO shaft directions have multiple errors in it. It states to remove the PTO shaft cover lock Pin and slide back. There is no such thing as a lock pin. You have to depress the 3 white tabs on the PTO covers and slide back. It was difficult to keep all 3 tabs of the cover disengaged at the same time. Both ends of the PTO shaft cover as exactly that way. I am cutting high grass and that is it. Finally after two hours of use until typical operation, the PTO shaft basically failed. It is bent and split. It was set up exactly as directed and was not under severe load. The cutter states made in the USA however the PTO shaft is made in China.

Not a Hardy product

Broke it the first season mowing grass , it hit a minor log but instead of shear pin breaking the gear box broke. I had an older Ford mower that lasted a long time, then I try this one and it is to delicate, not hardy at all. Disappointed

No, I do not recommend this product.

Trasporting and assembly dificalt

It comes having to be loaded and transported in a vertical position hard to keep stable. Then has to be picked up and set down flat to be assembled and used. Getting the driveshaft safety cover snaps released is difficult and must be done for assembly. Unclear how they want the chains on the driveshaft are to be used. You must engage to PTO at a low idle speed or you snap the shear bolt (no spare provided). Once set up it dose a good job .
