Love this cutter!

I have had a 6' Mohawk Brave for many years and finally decided to replace it. I liked the price of this cutter, but compared to the Brave, it was 1/3rd the price and 1/3rd the weight. However, I've found that this is one tough little cutter. I have been using it to mow my 100+ acre ranch in Texas where it goes through lots of briar and small scrub cedar with no problem. I really like the lighter weight which makes hooking it up so much easier and faster. I added a great front guard made from a tire tread. Chain guards are too heavy, too expensive, and way to dusty. The typical rubber front guard is made of mud flap material and eventually tears up. Get an old tire (free). Cut the sidewalls from the tread with a jigsaw (wood cutting blade). Measure and cut the tread with jigsaw with metal cutting blade to get through the steel belting. What you end up with is a front guard that totally safe, eliminates the dust up your back, will last forever, and doesn't cost anything. You'll love the "no dust" that this guard provides.

You get what you pay for.

that old saying that you get what you pay for is true on this rotary cutter. I purchased this cutter and took it back the next day. I ran it 5 minutes before having trouble out of the gear case. I was not cutting anything thick like brush or saplings just grass and weeds. I found out that the manufacturer who actually makes this thing, this is what they call there light duty rotary cutter. if you are wanting a rotary cutter that will last and cut more than just some grass don't buy this piece of junk spend a little extra money and you will not regret it.

Missing Components Preventing It’s Operation

I purchased this on 9/23/25 in Devine, TX with intent on using it after my area had some above rain and a lot of brush growth in my 5 acre lot. The brush is now brown/dry and a fire danger. The transactional process was smooth; even above avg offering veteran discounts and having patience with my wife and I re-registering and re-creating the TSC app on our phones. The issue is the item was missing the wheel and the spindle and axel bolt, but the mgr advised at first the missing parts was “just a wheel” and they probably have it inside the store BC its a TSC common brand. Inspecting the item/cutter with the mgr Robert, I pointed out that more than just the wheel was missing. We discussed it and he advised me they had the wheel in the store. He brought it out to me with no spindle or axel bolt. He said he would order the missing pieces and they were expected to be delivered and installed in a week, and never called me back. The unit was delivered without the missing items, so I call him back two weeks later today 10/7; he says, “Its on back order with no expected delivery date”. He says another store local to the area, has it, but he has to arrange pickup and delivery, but he’ll have it by the end of this week. I told him to call me back today when he closes that loop. I don’t expect a call back. I’ve offered COAs to include picking the item up from a store in the major geo-metro area, but this was not an option? Rule #1 don't promise what you can’t deliver. Rule #2 know what you’re selling. Usually the manager checks up on customer service, not the customer checking up on the manager? Not happy and close to taking item back and demanding a refund.

Hopeful

Other than another rotary cutter the is nothing that stands out to me. County Line should not be shipping these mowers with all nuts torqued to max, knowing that the buyer is gonna have to assemble the darn thing. County line should offer different sizes of PTO shaft, cutting the darn thing is ridiculous. Just ask the customer what he needs. Will see how it cuts as it has been a long day of assembly. Sure hoping that after reading other posts that it will.

Don’t buy this if not assembled fully!

I rarely leave reviews but this is to hopefully save someone from misery! If this cutter or any like it is not fully assembled just leave and go somewhere that has assembled it. I am a do it yourself person and I did finally get this working but it is not worth it. The instructions are about as bad as I’ve seen and useless. The first one I was shown had parts laying on top of it and I found out it was a return from someone that obviously couldn’t put it together. You will need large tools because they fully torqued the cat one pins. So you need a 29mm socket and long racket or impact driver to get these loose. That’s just the beginning. It’s crazy someone is in charge of this line of tractor supply brand and this is allowed to be sold like this. Also, it’s sold without oil and all grease fittings are dry. Good luck in the instructions trying to figure out what size shear bolts you need. The one it comes with doesn’t even have a locking nut.
