The Tarter 5 ft. Finish Mower gives customers a nice, well-manicured lawn. This is for folks who like to continually maintain their property and keep it looking great. Our mower works great even in ankle-deep grass with its rear-discharge design. Tarter's free-floating hitch system and 10 tires allows the mower to follow the contours of the ground to mow evenly, even when the terrain is uneven. Three cast iron spindle housings feature grazable bearings and the top gearbox has heat-treated gears. This finish mower is Cat 1 and quick hitch compatible, ideally suited for tractors 20-60 PTO HP. A 6 version is also available.

Q: I have all the height adjustment washers on top and the lowest it will cut is 3” what can I do to make it lower?

  • AI-generated, Human-approved
A: The minimum cutting height for this mower is 0.75 inches. To adjust the height, you can move the spacers on the wheel yokes; placing more spacers below the wheel arm will raise the deck, while placing them above the arm will lower it.

Q: Will this work on a 2305 John deere

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, the Tarter 5 ft. Finish Mower (FM205) is physically compatible with your John Deere 2305 as both use a Category 1 three-point hitch and a standard 540 RPM PTO. However, it is a demanding match for this specific tractor's power and weight limits.

Q: Will this work with my BX2660?

1 Answer
  • A: The Tarter 5 ft. Finish Mower is a functional but tight match for your Kubota BX2660, as it sits right at the tractor's 19.5 PTO HP and lift capacity limits. While it will handle a maintained lawn effectively, you will likely need front weights to keep the steering stable and a slower ground speed to prevent the engine from bogging down in thick grass.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND CHECK IT OUT FIRST!

I read all the reviews and did my research before buying this 5 ft Countyline finishing mower. I bought one this morning and spent the afternoon greasing it, checking all the bolts, replacing the pins that hold the wheels on with 1/4 inch bolts and nylon lined nuts, and when all that was done I checked the gear oil in the gear box. The gear box was dry but that seemed a common problem when I read the reviews. It may seem like a lot of hassle for a new mower but after I finished putting in that extra effort it cuts like a champ and this thing is built like a tank. I was really impressed with the thickness of the steel in the mower. I do lots of research before it but most anything. You'll be disappointed if you try to find another mower of this quality anywhere close to this price. Save time and just buy the Countyline Mower at Tractor Supply. Just be sure to take the time to check it out thoroughly before you ever engage to power take off. MOST IMPORTANTLY, CHECK THE OIL IN THE GEAR BOX! Once again, I find myself saying, "Thank you Tractor Supply for another great product and more great service!"

Mix Review

Cuts well but there are problems. The pins fall off the wheels. I finally had to do them differently. Also, the grease nipples on the wheels fall off since they are not machined correctly and can not be screwed tight. Had to re-do those differently too. Greasing the drive-train u-joints is extremely hard because there is very little room to get that done. When you pay this much for a piece of equipment you expect more than that. I bought it about 40 days ago. I hope I do not have further problems. I am disappointed.

Tarter 5 ft Finish Mower

Assembly wasn't too bad. The hardest part was getting it out of the shipping crate. The first time I mowed, two wheels froze up. Adjusted and regreased them and things are fine with the wheels. Have mowed a couple times now and doing a great job. I have a JD 855 which is handling it well. It was bulky mowing with the bucket on. Had concerns about removing it because of reading about needing front end weight of some kind. However, without the bucket on, the tractor is very stable with the mower on back.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Tarter 5ft mower

This mower cuts excellent for me, only downfall I found is if you ordered it online like I did it comes in a crate and it is difficult to take out of the crate by yourself but it is simple to put together.

Unit was scraped due to packaging and shipping. Furthermore, no grease or gear oil provided from Tarter. A bit unfortunate as to how much this unit costs...
