We have several Finch Feeders, but our Finch prefer this one. I think they prefer the feel of the sock versus our metal feeders. The only drawback is that they do not last very long.

Not happy if the birds aren't and they don't use it at all

I bought this thinking it would be a great way to catch the thistle seed my finches seem to waste. What I didn't realize was it also catches the rain and does not allow it to pass through, which makes nyjer/thistle seed turn rancid. I noticed my finches stopped using it and went to my tube feeder instead....this was just a couple days after a rainstorm. If you want to use this, you will need to change the seed out every time it rains. I thought this was a great idea when I bought it at the store, but realized it wasn't when I started using it. It might do fine in an area that is covered (like a porch) but my feeders are all in the open.

Bought this feeder for our finchs and love it. Will buy another.
