Squirrels are laughing at me

I put an ear of squirrel corn and a few pecans in the bottom of the trap
the corn is still there the pecans are gone... apparently the cage is so short the varmints can reach their paws in and get the pecans without going in the trap
have had it two weeks not one squirrel
I wasted my $$$$

I find the product's photo misleading, so it received 4 stars, not 5. There is no way you will get 25 squirrels to populate a single cage "within minutes". Is it possible to get 25 squirrels? Sure, it is. Our present tally is 31 squirrels using 2 traps over a span of 2-3 mos. Only once did it trap 2 squirrels at one time. Preferred bait - parrot food with a couple of unsalted peanuts. Of note, it also trapped a box turtle and a cotton-tailed rabbit.

Works for others but my squirrels won’t go in

I purchased this based on web info and recommendations from a friend. He said after a couple days he was regularly catching with bird seed bait. I plan to try a modification using a spring plate that will hold one door open until the plate is stepped on.

Easy way to catch more than one squirrel at a time

It's an easy trap to use. Just bait the area leading into the trap generously with sunflower seeds, pecans and then wait. But keep checking so they don't suffer unnecessarily in the trap.

Curious what you used for bait as the trap is 4 inches tall and a squirrels arm is not that long.. Also curious if you left it our overnight because nocturnal animals (racoons) can steal the bait...
