Good item, mounts however you need it

Good product, solid made, many options for mounting on any part of trailer and different orientations to meet your need. Maybe a little over-priced, but then what isn't. Would be nice if came with a lock for the spare wheel.

Good for tongue mount

Although the description states that this can be mounted to the trailer frame. Do so only if the frame is a horizontal U channel steel. Frame mounting places the spare very high and outside the plane of the fender. The resulting torque from the weight of the spare will cause the frame to twist and spring. Mounting on the tongue is best, but keep in mind that the weight of the spare is now on the tongue and hitch.

Good mount, but needs three bolts to hold tire

Solid mount for the larger spare tires, I bolted it to the top rail of my trailer with no problem. It has multiple different holes to give you options for mounting too. I took one star off because the two carriage bolts used to hold the tire on is not enough. no matter how I positioned it the tire would always rock back and forth. You can tell the mount was design to have 3 bolts to hold the tire on. I purchased some 1/2-20 bolts and nuts to improve the mounting. I made the bolts the same size as the lug nuts so i didn't need two different wrenches to change a tire (because of course the normal 1/2" nuts are not the same size as the lugnuts)

Yes, I recommend this product.

It's a spare tire that cost too much.

I bought a single-axle trailer from TSC and it did not come with a spare tire. Can you believe that? So I had to buy one and TSC had the right size in stock so I bought one. It looks good mounted to the trailer, and I hope I never have to use it. But I did pay too much for it.
