What is the recommended method of splicing this 15.5 gauge 4-point high tensile barbed wire? Can I use the two loop method or the western union type splice?

Asked by: chip123
Both the two loop method and the western union type splice will work with our 15/5 g 4 pt barbed wire. Which ever you are most comfortable with is what is recommended. One more option is to use a barbed wire Gripple joiner which will save you time and ease.

What is the optimal Tpost spacing for high tensile 4-point 15 gauge barbed wire?

Asked by: Chau
Great question @Chau! For our Gaucho high tensile 15.5g barbed wire (4 pt) we recommend a t-post spacing of 30' if you're using 30'. If you're not using stays we would recommend 20-25'. Will this barbed wire prevent squirrels and raccoons from climbing over the fence and getting inside of the enclosed area? I was going to string this four feet high if it will work in keeping them out. Thanks.

Asked by: Tractor supply Cust
Squirrels and raccons are infamous climbers so using only barbed wire won't quite get you what you're looking for.

What brand / model of fence pliers is recommended for use with this 15.5 gauge 4-point high tensile barbed wire?

Asked by: chip123
Any high quality fence pliers should work well with our products. A couple good options are Knipex, Channellock, or Millwaukee.

Can this wire be used for an electric fence, im fenceing in for goats, would thismbe better than smooth wire,, thanks for any help......

Asked by: GMFARM
Electrifying barbed wire is difficult and not recommended. Also, we do not recommend barbed wire be used with goats. They are climbers and the barbs could cause harm to their hooves. The recommendation is to use Gaucho Non-Climb Sheep and Goat Fence.

Will this work with a metal Tpost setup? I currently have a temporary lightweight electric fence but the horses keep breaking it and escaping. Wondering if I can just replace the current wire with this or if I have to plant wooden posts in the ground?

Asked by: Horsestrouble22
@Horsestrouble22, yes our Gaucho 15.5g 4 pt high tensile barbed wire will work on a t-post set-up.
