80-Rod 12.5-Gauge 2-Point Regular Barbed Wire

Although the product description doesn't say it, I'm assuming this is Red Brand wire since the barbs are red. This is a good quality product that my dad always swore by, and I have found no reason to think any different. However, I have learned to take the 80 rod claim with a grain of salt. One of the first times on my own building new fence, I used a measuring wheel to lay out the posts, and I had about 10' extra on my first wire, which was fine. On the second wire, though, I came up about 30' short. At first, I thought this was an anomaly, but I have found it to be the norm, and have learned to live with it.

I have always bought and used Red Brand wire. But no more. Got six rolls last week. All six rolls aren't worth spit. I have hung wire most of my life. Never have a come across such poor wire. Once up if you go back and move wire it will snap.
