- A: If the suction cup will not stick, clean the mounting area with rubbing alcohol. Place a small drop of vegetable oil or corn oil in the center of the suction cup. Q: Do I HAVE to use a LITHIUM BATTERY in this? Mine just needs a new battery (CR2032) but it says lithium on it. I love this thermometer.

Thermometer keeps accurate temp but the suction cup failed. I was using it in a tote on the side of the tote but it was a flat area and cleaned.
