Our 7 year old Doberman is very active, running and catching frisbees several times a day, so this high protein dog food seemed like a win-win. And she loves it, but for whatever reason, it upsets her system. She has horrible smelling gas and excessive (often loose) bowel movements. We bought a bag several months ago, hoping that her system would adjust eventually, but after 2+ weeks, we were still taking her out at all hours of the day and night. We eventually threw the bag away. My husband mistakenly bought a 2nd bag recently and it’s the same result on her system. Thinking it was maybe the actual shreds, we started picking them out, leaving only the kibble, but even that upsets her system. We’ll be throwing this bag out as well. Almost every 4 Health dog food that she, or any of our previous dogs have eaten is easy on the stomach. Maybe it’s just her digestive tract that doesn’t like this particular type of dog food. But it’s an expensive lesson to have learned that this creates a lot of digestive problems.
