I bought this at the recommendation of one of the employees about 2 weeks ago when I asked for help picking out a good healthy dog food for my dogs. They told me the local veterinarians often prescribe this brand for those who are on a tight budget or fixed income due to the fact that brands like Science Diet are so much more expensive. Before I bought this product I had been feeding my dogs Kibbles & Bits Homestyle brand and one dog has had chronic yeast ear infections every couple of months, she had always licked between her paws which I did not know if it was a stress habit or possible yeast infection, their skin seemed to be almost dandruff like. The other dog was daily eating grass to induce vomiting, vomiting in the house late at night. I suspected it was a food allergy but did not know what it could be or afford the allergy tests that vets do in order to discover the cause. After 2 weeks of them eating this brand of dog food, the yeast infection of the ears seems to have healed up. She is not licking between her paws. Her dandruff like skin is gone. Her coat is very shiny. The other dog has not been eating grass to induce vomiting. I would recommend this for any dog not just for those who have allergies but the ingredients lead me to believe this is has got to be one of healthiest combinations of food that a dog can get.

I bought two of these bags about a month ago for my five dogs. One blue merle cattle dog, one shepard/akita mix, one pug mix, one healer/coyote mix and one 90lb. white and brown dog. During the first week, my pug mix got sick, then the second week my blue merle cattle dog got sick and then my shepard/akita mix got sick. Switched them to another brand that is grain free - salmon & sweet potato - took 3 days, but they all recovered from not eating and constantly throwing up. Opened up the second bag for the 90lb. mix dog (Sis) and the healer/coyote mix, husband said those two can eat anything and not get sick, 2nd week feeding this bag and both had diarrhea and were vomiting. Switched them over to the other brand the other 3 were eating and 2 days later they were fine as well. I looked for recalls on this brand and bags but nothing showed up. I will be returning the remaining bag and not buying this one again. Something had to be wrong with both bags of dog food to cause all 5 of my dogs to get so sick. I had been buying the 4health brand of salmon & potato formula without any problems, and will switch back to that one. Please everyone, be careful buying this product, my dogs are all different breeds and this should not have happened with all 5 of them.
