Q: Why do you put carrageenan in this food? Its very bad for gastrointestinal issues and has been known to cause tumors.

- A: We use food grade carrageenan for our process, which is approved by the US FDA as a food additive. a. This is extracted from red seaweed plant. 2. We do not use carrageenan processed with acid substances, which is not considered as a food additive by the US FDA. a. When carrageenan is processed in acid solution, the byproduct is poligeenan which is a degraded form of carrageenan which carries significant health warnings b. Some of the health risks associated with use of poligeenan are: i. Inflammation ii. Colon Cancer in animals iii. Bloating iv. Irritable bowel disease (IBD) 3. We do not use degraded carrageenan also known as poligeenan. 4. Extracted from red seaweeds, carrageenans are naturally occurring polysaccharides that provide gelation, viscosity, and structure to a variety of food applications To our knowledge there is not scientific research to demonstrate carcinogenic, genotoxic, or tumor-promoting activity of food grade carrageenan in lower concentrations in canines and felines. There is also a lack of research about further degradation of food grade carrageenan when mixed with stomach acid during normal digestion process. My dog chili loves it and he don’t like too many things. He seems to poop well with it. It looks like real vegetables and smells healthy. And I don’t find that weird jelly in it when I open up the food.

I’ve been giving my dog some form of 4Health product for quite awhile now. He’s had food and supplements. He has quite a bad problem with allergies, but using products from 4Health have really helped and saved me quite a bit of money by not having to pay a vet bill. My dog is also elderly and I believe with the help of the 4Health products have not only extended but improved his quality of life as he reaches his later years.
He also enjoys them. He can’t wait to get up in the morning because he knows he’s going to get his supplements. He barely takes his time eating them because he looks forward to them so much. He also knows when it’s getting close to his dinner time. Not only will he eat it all, he’ll go back and try to lick the bowl clean to make sure he didn’t miss any crumbs.
I haven’t found anything from 4Health that he doesn’t like. I’ve used supplements that just target one area of his body and I’ve also done multivitamins to help several parts at once. I’m always met with the same response, trying to eat them all as fast as possible because how much he enjoys them.
Yes, I recommend this product.
