- A: This product is only intended for spreading seed and fertilizer. Salt is not recommended because it can easily clump up and block the opening, which can burn out the motor. If you do try to use salt, you will need to clear the opening and un-clump the salt frequently to avoid damage to the spreader.7 years agoHelpful?

Spreader works fine when finally installed. Not easy to install onto riding mower. Supports are not enough to support spreader by itself. Open/close lever not on good place. Should have switch on wire going to battery not mount on bucket. Needs alligator clips for attaching to battery.

Piece of Crap

I bought this a month ago and needed it this week. While unboxing the unit i noticed that it was partly assembled and it was banged up. The wiring was missing, no way to connect to a power source. It looks like someone sent it back because it didn't work so it was put back in inventory now I'm stuck with it. What a total piece of crap.
No, I do not recommend this product.
