Q: Can u put this on dogs

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, you can use our liniment on dogs without harm. Just make sure you are using it in intact skin and not over wounds or dermal irritations. You might want to try a small amount first to see how your dog tolerates the warming/cooling sensation. Thanks for your question.

Q: Does this have an odor?  If so, is it strong?

  • A: HI Jazz62. Our liniment has a faint scent from the active menthol. It's about what you'd expect from a product of this type–nothing strong or overpowering. Give it a try and if you have any issues you can contact us. We back all of our products with a satisfaction guarantee and will take care you no matter what. Thanks for your question!

Q: Can I use this on my 85lb German shepherd?

1 Answer
  • A: Our Vetericyn Equine Liniment has only been tested on horses and no testing has been conducted on dogs. Based on the ingredient profile of the product, there is little risk for using on dogs, however I suggest trying a small amount to see how your dog responds to the "counterirritant" feel that our liniment provides to muscles and joints.

Q: Can I use this product on sheep

1 Answer
  • A: Our Vetericyn Liniment has ingredients that are safe to use on sheep, however the product has not been specifically tested on sheep, only equine. Vetericyn Liniment has a blue color that could potentially leave a residue or stain sheep wool, hair, or skin. We suggest testing on a small area first. Thanks for sending in your question!

Q: How often can you administer the Vetericyn ligament ointment in a day

1 Answer
  • A: We suggest applying before &/or after strenuous activity for muscles and joints to ease recovery on healthy horses. For horses that are experiencing aches from old age, regular joint pain, or prior injury, Vetericyn Liniment can be applied every 6 hours. The product has a time-release feature, so the product continues to work hours after administration. Horses vary in their needs and we suggest careful observation to determine when reapplication is necessary.

Best Liniment I've Tried

This liniment is wonderful. It reduces swelling and is good for after workout care for all of my horses. When my horse got kicked by another horse her back leg was swollen. I applied this liniment and her swelling went down within the hour. It has a pleasant mild peppermint scent and does not leave any residue after drying. The texture is like a gel-lotion. This liniment washed off of my hands easily without leaving them minty.

Yes, I recommend this product.
