Rated 1 out of 5 by from U.S. Minerals Glass Beads ....Beach Sand??? Bought this a week ago but was redoing my blast cabinet so I just opened today. I was first struck by how dirty it was. Then the smell hit me - like dirty sea water. I'd swear this is just beach sand - and not the pure white Aruba stuff either - maybe from a beach in New Jersey. It's going back ASAP. I was using Black Bull I'd bought several years back from TSC. Great stuff. Sad they changed suppliers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crushed glass This worked well for me for removing old powder coating, paint and rust from various steel parts. It flows well in TSC's cheapo cabinet. It was not as dusty as TSC's coal slag, but it is still VERY dusty. Wear a dust mask.

I've heard that using glass beads on aluminum leaves "dimples" in the metal. Is this true?

This media will not leave dimples.

will this be effective at removing anti fouling paint from fiberglass gel coat and can it be used in a pressure washer blasting nozzle?

Asked by: dirty boat
Yes to both questions. It may take a little more time and effort depending on the pressure your equipment can output but, it will do the job.

Will this pit or eat away at my Aluminum rims and what grit is it

Asked by: Bigbogie
It is an 80 mesh material. Although glass is usually not as aggressive, there is still a chance for pitting on the rims.

The new white container from U.S.Minerals is confusing the customer. He needs glass beads. He is afraid that the glass abrasive is not straight glass beads/ Can you explain

Asked by: J Griggs
US Minerals is not a Buffalo Tools brand. It appears there is an error on the Tractor Supply website. I could provide information about the Black Bull brand, but nothing about the US Minerals Brand.
