Installed mine with protective cover,, kept weather off it. I see a lot if negative reviews on this unit but mine NEVER FAILED ME . Used to pull non running rolling stock and amish buult wood sheds onto a goose
neck. Had over 5 years. Used both remote and wired winch controls. Requires good battery and good grounds like any HD winch but reliable

Workhorse of a winch

I bought this winch a few years ago now after reading some amazing reviews on it. I am here to say, the reviews I read were right in the money. This winch is a beast, I does everything I need it to. I have it mounted on a lifted 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ. It’s been a work horse. I’ve used it to put a 100’ wind turbine tower up, pull vehicles a lot heavier then my XJ out of snow, using a traveler 10,000lb snatch block. I highly recommend this winch.
