Q: Does this winch draw power from a trailer wiring plug.

1 Answer
  • A: No, a 10,000 lb. electric winch does not typically draw power from a standard trailer wiring plug (like a 7-way) because it requires much more amperage (hundreds of amps at high load) than trailer plugs provide, instead connecting directly to the vehicle's battery with heavy-gauge wiring and a solenoid. You connect it to your vehicle's 12V battery, often using quick-connects or dedicated wiring, to get the necessary high current for operation.

Very good

The winch itself is great. The remote control work’s nice. Make sure you spool out the line and run it back tight before using because it’s on there loose and you’ll bind up if you try and use it outta the box. The red on the line to know where to stop is awesome. The downside was that when bolted to the same brand portable mount the front plate bolts wouldn’t fit so I had to use my own bolts. Not that big of a deal but still.

Bad experience with store.

To be honest I haven't even unboxed the winch. The day I went to get it (I had to order it to the store from the store) after receiving the email that it was out for delivery was a day I won't forget as being treated like I was scum for no reason. I hope that it was handled. I haven't been back since and I don't know what to do about the winch it probably works but I don't want it. You lost me and my family as a customer for sure.

Used it a few times. Stopped working. Warranty expired. You get what you pay for. Currently trying to find a repair shop in the Orange park Fl area. Any suggestions? Not bitter. Par for the course.

Good winch for the price

Works well and I am pleased so far. I have it hitch mounted with the Traveler Quick Mounting Plate for uses on my 2024 Ford F150 & 2023 Bronco HLE. Installing it on the hitch mount was a challenge due to the fairlead mounting bolts in the way of the winch body but I was able to get it to work. If the hitch mount was 1/8" wider it would have fit like a glove. My back does wish the overall weight was less but I can manage installing & removing by myself. Bluetooth remote is on the cheep side of construction but should hold up well. Wired remote is robust. Hopefully the manufacturer will offer an app for phone control via Bluetooth like Warn someday.

fairlead mount is terrible

winch works good. They redesigned it from the box and pictures and there's no way to mount the fairlead without getting studs welded to a winch bracket.
