Keeps blocks unattainable to alk but intended target,no mess or spillage. I especially like the key-lock security. This one is in my shed,so less obtainable, but "just in case," kids can't open w/o key, and I doubt raccoons could either. Older ones we've had were opened by raccoons. Someone likes to drag them off, too, so if using outside, suggest putting something heavy on it to prevent this.

Bought 2 traps and a bucket of bait. I've replaced the bait about every 2 weeks for 3 months and the rodent population seems to be growing. The bait is gone. There are more pack rat holes and mice holes.
I have not smelled a rotting mouse/rat nor seen one. Their nests are growing in size and yesterday, I found out I need about $1400 in electrical repairs that appear to be shorts from their chewing. I've already replaced 2 sprinkler control boxes...they love burrowing in the valve boxes!
No, I do not recommend this product.
