Q: Why does the 18 lb. having a longer longevity than the smaller size? Is it just the size or is there a different chemical make up. We are using the product in our cellar.
3 years ago1 Answer
- A: All Motomco baits should remain effective for up to 1 year after being manufactured regardless of size or chemical make up. Generally the active ingredient will remain effective, however fresher bait is more attractive rodents, so they may be less likely to eat it if it's been around awhile. We recommend storing bait in cool, dry areas, so a hot & humid environment will degrade the bait faster.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: is it safe for livestock animals?
4 years ago2 Answers
- A: This product is a poison and precaution should be taken to prevent any non-target animals from accessing the bait, in accordance with the label instructions. If the bait is being put out in areas where other animals will be near it, you can protect the bait from them by using approved Bait Stations, which only allow rats & mice to enter and feed on the bait.4 years agoHelpful?
Q: Does this work on groundhogs?
5 years ago1 Answer
- A: This product may only be used to control rats, mice, meadow voles and other species listed on the label. We have not tested the bait on groundhogs and do not recommend using it for any other species.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Where do rats die. Do they look for water source
7 years ago1 Answer
- A: Rats need to drink water almost every day, so their nest or burrow is usually near a food or water source. Rats will very often go back to their nest once they feel the effects of the rodenticide and die in underground burrows. However, you may find dead rodents in areas that are accessible. We recommend disposing of dead rodents as quickly as possible.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: What's the difference between this and your bait with bromethalin
8 years ago1 Answer
- A: Bromethalin is an entirely different active ingredient that has different mode of action that is lethal to rodents. The active ingredient in the Tomcat All-Weather Bait Chunx is Diphacinone, which is a multiple feed anticoagulant, which means rats & mice will need to feed on the bait multiple times in order to consume enough bait to get a lethal dose. It will also take longer for them to die after ingesting a lethal dose. Bromethalin works on the animals' nervous system, so they will begin to die quicker compared to an anticoagulant. Also, you can control more mice using less bait. 1 block of Tomcat with Bromethalin will kill up to 12 Mice. Tomcat All-Weather Bait Chunx are best for everyday maintenance of light to moderate infestations, but Tomcat with Bromethalin is better for more severe issues or higher rodent populations.8 years agoHelpful?
