Great machine with poorly welded feet

a month ago
one of the feet snapped off when I lowered it. Turns out it was only tack welded on, and only one of the tiny tacks had any penetration. You can tell from the pictures, paint completely covers most of the foot. I was able to weld it back on to fix, but this really should not have been missed, no way it should have passed any kind of quality check. Aside from that issue the machine was dialed in and functions very well, at least in the first 20 board feet.

Yes, I recommend this product.

SouthBend 12" Jointer Review

I initially bought the 8" Southbend jointer but it was too small. I purchased the 12" and so far it has handled just about everything I throw at it. The cutters are sharp and produce extremely smooth surfaces on any type of wood. The machine is heavy and has mass so it doesn't move around. The motor has plenty of power and has NEVER bogged down. I did have to upgrade my electrical system to handle the bigger motor especially when I turn on the Laguna dust collector with the 5hp motor. I would purchase again. I have the Southbend planer and Southbend makes a cut above for their tools as far as quality is concerned.

Yes, I recommend this product.
