Good tool with fatal flaws

I got this intending it to fit the niche between my (discontinued) LM Squrit and a LM Skeletool in town, and to supplement my Victorinox Ranger when in the woods. The use of normal bits vs flat bits makes me happy, and for the size, the file is a good one. The rope cutter hook was dull out of the box, a narrow diamond rod fixed that, and the scissor are meh but functional. But it has a problem, really two First, the pocket clip is mounted on the wrong side of the tool. In the right pocket, it's the leading rather than the trailing edge of the tool. So it bounces and twists. And unlike any other multitool with a pocket clip I have, the clip is NOT at the plier end of the handle. That means when you reach into your pocket, the tool can easily open. With the tool able to bounce and twist, it can even open as you move around. The second flaw, the outside opening tools, as they catch on your pen or just the fabric of your pants, the tools can be pulled semi-open. It didn't draw blood, at least not much, but the straight driver cut a hole in my pocket and tried to bore a hole in my thigh. I've never had any pocket knife do that. I carried it one day, only for a few hours. I should have anticipated the short comings of this design. Honestly, with the compounding pliers, I don't see how it could have been prevented, they're very slick in their opening. I was eager about it as a concept, but it's like pocket carrying a small single action pistol cocked and locked when it has a big safety (IYKYK). I'm keeping the tool, but I'm cutting away and filing down the pocket clip, because it fits in a very mission specific, small form factor kit where it will be a great upgrade from a smaller (84mm) Swiss Army Knife, but not the EDC role that I'd hoped for. I may print a pocket clip that uses a cut down driver bit and the bit holder in the future, that will wrap around the legs of the tool, but for now thats more work than I want to put into it

No, I do not recommend this product.

Power Assist Pint

Power Assist Pint, I have been using this little multi tool for the past four months on my fencing project and It has been very helpful for various tasks on this project. I have purchased the Power Assist Multi tool and I have no complaints with it as well. Both of the SOG multi tools are built well and the main thing with any tool, do not abuse them, just use them as what they were designed to accomplish. If you need a hammer then buy and good hammer, if you need a screw driver, then buy the screw driver that accomplishes that task. The coolest thing about mutli tools, they give the user the ability to use the pliers, a sharp knife blade, wire cutters, scissors, and the list goes on, I own two Leatherman Multi tools, love my Super Tool 300, the best for my needs, and not to forget that I have Gerber products that I am pleased with. Folks, buy the product that meets your needs, be happy that you were able to get each of them, use them, take care of them and hopefully each one will last your lifetime. If one of them does not, no problem, many have a warranty, and you get it replaced and your back to your daily tasks. Be grateful is a good mindset for all of us folks. Smiling Jack in the woods,

Yes, I recommend this product.

I’m impressed

Great little tool. Compound leverage on the pliers really helps hold on to things like small diameter wire as well as nuts and bolts. Only kind of odd thing is that you can access tools from the closed position but have to open it to unlock them. But when you’re done you usually have hands free so no big deal. So far holding up great. Liked it enough to buy another as a backup.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The best multitool in its class. But it has a lot of flaws that need to be addressed: the angle gauge does not display correctly, a weak flat screwdriver that breaks very easily, rivets fall out over time, need to be unriveted, and worst of all - the tool lock springs break off

Yes, I recommend this product.
