I never expected it to work so well! My gelding has a much darker coat for sure, but softer and thicker.

I started feeding Nu Image DARK HORSE because it is a significant source of copper. My mare developed chronic, painful thrush in one hoof. Topical thrush treatments sting and treating her feet became a battle. For all the effort and discomfort the thrush never really cleared up enough for her to be sound. But supplementing with copper has reduced the thrush to almost nothing (it comes back if she's off the copper for a week). At 20 she is the picture of health with a round back and glossy coat. Her scant, itchy mane (probably another fungal issue) has grown back. If fungal issues like thrush are your horse's problem and you are considering a Select the Best product, be sure you buy the DARK HORSE product. Select the Best also offers plain Nu Image which has a different formulation with no copper. Note, Select the Best does not advertise or recommend their product for fungal issues. Also, even though labeled Dark Horse, I would not hesitate to feed this to any color horse. As for palatability, my mare wolfs it down but my gelding won't eat it. Fortunately he has no fungal issues and his coat is nice.
