- A: Do you mean for the flowers of those feeding ports of the Balloon hummingbird feeder? If so, these could come off with force, pulling them off base, but be careful not to break them while pulling..a year agoHelpful?
Q: The perches need to be redesigned, they’re too large.. I found a dead hummer stuck in one flying up from the bottom while hanging. I cut them off to prevent that tragedy!

Q: I got the base apart by using my thumb in the center and gently loosening it. It is tight as first. My question is do the flowers come off and apart. My other style does for a thorough cleaning. I don't want to break the flowers.

The center of each plastic tip is always closed, which prevents bees from getting to the nectar. Bought this humming bird feeder to replace our old one. I love that I don't have to put food coloring in the water. The colors are bright and beautiful. Our humming birds love it!

The feeder is very pretty but how are you supposed to clean the base. I have seen several different people asking how to take the base apart. I asked the same question and the reply was, "Thank you for your inquire, please check your email for requested information Jessicasm". It gave me a link to the same Tractor Supply page to buy the feeder where there is not any information about the base. I guess I got stuck with a feeder you can't clean. Would it have been that hard to get the information from the manufacturer?

How to clean

Instructions for opening base for cleaning. Place base on flat surface. Press down on center of base inside threaded nozzle with thumbs. Hook fingers under outside edge of red cover and lift carefully. Birds would turn up their beaks at 4:1 sugar concentration. Switched to 3:1 with great results!

Great feeder except paint is peeling after 1 year.

Bought in April of last year 2024 and end of last year and this year the paint is all starting to come
off and peal. Am kinda disappointed because it's not from cleaning the feeder either. Overall it been good feeder and the hummers like the perches alot.
Might be a defective one but might buy a different one
next year. Overall it been good feeder and eazy to clean.
