Bought this in March as I had 2 dozen chicks ordered. Set up my brooder and could never get an accurate reading. As I'm typing this, it's 83 degrees here in East Texas and my thermometer says it's 40. The glass tube is mounted on a steel backing so if you're placing it in a brooder anywhere near the heat lamp, the steel heats WAY up and throws off the reading.

Love Tractor Supply

Generally they have the products I am looking for. The few times when they do not have the product I need, they have a good alternative. Otherwise, they offer a date of when the item will arrive. Tractor Supply is well stocked and has a variety of products from where to chose. We have raised and fed our animals from tractor supply, goats, lambs, turkeys, chickens and even have toys for our dog and cats. Workers are helpful and knowedgeable.

FINALLY a brooder thermometer that will last.

FINALLY a brooder thermometer worth the money. In the past all I was able to find were flimsy carboard backed thermometers that didn't last. This one should last me several years.
